for.nyc is a city gospel movement comprised of leaders, pastors, churches and strategic organizations. Built on a platform of collective impact, data informed and with a bias toward outcomes and action, for.nyc was birthed out of a desire to cooperate together to see New York City flourish.

for.nyc is led by Executive Director Guy Wasko who has pastored, served and led in New York City since 2009.

New York City is one of the most influential cities in the world—and one of the most spiritually complex. With 8.6 million residents, 6,000+ churches, and thousands of ministries, the potential for gospel impact is enormous. But the reality? Most pastors feel isolated, churches often work in parallel silos, and the city’s greatest needs remain unmet at scale.

In a city this dense, diverse, and spiritually hungry, no single church or organization can carry the mission alone.

That’s why FOR.NYC exists.

WHY FOR.NYC NEEDS TO EXIST IN NEW YORK CITY

    Yet pastors consistently say they feel alone in the work, lacking peers, partners, and coordinated mission.

    FOR.NYC bridges that gap by connecting isolated leaders, creating spaces of trust, shared learning, prayer, and collaboration across boroughs, cultures, and denominations.

  • NYC is a system—not a spreadsheet.

    Issues like youth mental health, spiritual curiosity, poverty, migration, and loneliness demand cross-sector, data-informed, and city-wide effort.

    FOR.NYC provides:

    • data and insight (Barna partnerships, city mapping, flourishing metrics)

    • convening power (networks, cohorts, retreats and labs)

    • shared frameworks for discipleship, leadership, and evangelism

    In short: we help leaders work smarter, not harder—and definitely not alone.

  • Jesus prayed in John 17 that unity would help the world believe.

    But unity doesn’t happen by accident. It requires:

    • a trusted neutral connector

    • relational infrastructure

    • a vision bigger than any one church

    FOR.NYC creates the table where leaders who would never otherwise meet learn to love, trust, and collaborate for the sake of the city.
